About us

Mid North Family Support started our humble beginnings in Kaikohe in 1987 with a dedicated bunch of women who wanted to start up a Rape Crisis centre for the Mid North area. So this year we celebrated 30 years of existence which included an Open Day, and Charity Auction and Dinner. Due to the weather conditions we held to cancel our Family Fun Day which was to be held at the Kerikeri Domain.

We are a Charitable Trust, established in 1996 and located in Kerikeri. We are affiliated to the National Collective of Rape Crisis and Related Groups Aotearoa (Nga Whatiki Whanau Ahuru Mowai O Aotearoa). We are committed to and honour the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi.

At Mid North Family Support we abide by a strict Code of Ethics and professional conduct. This includes a strong commitment to client confidentiality and the provision of quality services. All information colelcted by us is kept copnfidential within our agency as per the Privacy Act, agency ethics and guidelines, and our constitution.

Our Clinical Practitioners/counsellors are qualified and experienced with each one bringing their own strengths to our organisation.
